HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD SUMMARY
The Historic Preservation Board was established for the purposes of recommending the designation of historically significant structures and archaeologically significant sites to the City Commission. The board also can recommend the designation of historically significant districts, approve applications for moving permits, and review recommendations for local properties being referred to the National Register of Historic Places. The board consists of 7 members who have demonstrated an interest in historic preservation and shall possess the skills necessary to make recommendations relating to historical properties. Meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:00 p.m.in the City Commission Chambers. The board is assisted and supported by the Neighborhoods and Development Services.
